Addiction appears in many forms, gambling and substance use are two of the more recognizable expressions of addiction. This one-day workshop will provide participants with a fresh understanding of addiction and recovery through the lens of attachment. This interactive workshop will be both didactic and experiential.

Dr. Joel Porter, Psy.D., M.A., B.S.
is a Clinical Psychologist of Goldbridge Rehabilitation Services in Gold Coast, Australia. Dr. Porter has over two decades of clinical and consulting experience in areas of mental health and addiction. He is a long standing member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). Dr. Porter provides motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, professional ethics and basic counselling skills training throughout New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia to a wide range of professions. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Canberra University, Centre for Applied Psychology.
