Session two: My future

Content

You may start gambling for different reasons, for example, excitement, a placebo for stress in daily life, or a way to get into certain groups of friends. When you consider about making a change, you must have experienced certain negative impacts caused by gambling.

Have you ever thought that you are able to control your gambling behaviour? Or have you ever believed that your self-control can help you leave the situation? However, gambling disorder preoccupies your mind, disturbs your judgment and even affects your life.

If you let the disordered behaviour persist, how will your life be after 5 years? And if you can get away from the behaviour, what changes will happen in your life? This session’s exercise “My future” helps you examine immediate and long-term impacts brought by gambling disorder. Also, it helps compare how you will be like with and without gambling. Which one is your desired life?
